At Apollos Clothing we have a passion for looking after our environment as well as helping those in need. We like to make use of all donations that come through our door and waste as little as possible.
The Apollos Sewing Squad is a group of dedicated and talented individuals who upcycle second-hand curtains and bedding into beautiful tote bags. The care and attention that goes into these bags is plain to see, no two bags are the same, each one hand-selected to give to our clients.
We love to present those in need with freshly washed and ironed clothing in one of these unique Apollos bags. It shows that we care for them, and it also prevents this beautiful fabric from going to UK landfill.
Fixing and Mending
We don’t like to let good clothing go to waste. Sometimes clothing is almost perfect, apart from a ripped seam or a little hole in the sleeve. The wonderful Sewing Squad also fix and mend items of clothing that still can serve a purpose and doesn’t need to be resigned to the land-fill. School Uniform is especially in demand, and so by giving these clothes a little love and attention, the Sewing Squad enable even more families to get the clothing their children need for school.
“I’m really enjoying making bags these winter evenings. A good podcast and a feeling of having produced something useful. I love giving these pretty curtains and oddments of fabric a new lease of life. Makes the gift of clothes much more personal. What a good idea of Apollos to have this extra touch.”
